The Volkl Deacon 74 Ski redefines the way you experience the slopes. It unites an ultra-competitive with a playful concept and allows you to ski super agile and tight turns with maximum creativity. The 3D.Glass construction with speedwall mulitlayer wood core and powered by Titanium comes with a full sidewall and a P-Tex 4504 base. The new UVO 3D makes for an incredibly smooth ride. The pre-mounted rMotion2 with GripWalk compatibility provides the required power transfer on the 74 mm tip & tail rocker.

What's that spaceship on the nose?

UVO NOT UFO. The UVO 3D (Ultimate Vibration Object) – The terrain below the ski inevitably generates vibrations, which in turn set the shovel into motion. This significantly disrupts the smoothness of the ski-ride, and makes it harder to hold an edge. The revolutionary UVO technology works against this, through proven dampening in the form of reduced vibrations in the horizontal and vertical directions as well as along the length of the ski.

3D.GLASS is Völkl’s improvement on overall ski performance and stability even in critical snow conditions.
Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns.

Rocker Type: XTD Tip and Tail Rocker – Unique rocker shape, longer rocker profile compared to traditional tip & tail rocker, very short cambered profile under foot, more solid shovel and softer middle section.

Core: Speedwall Multilayer Woodcore – The sidewall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core. In combination with a more flexible, lighter wood built into the center of the sandwich core, this construction provides numerous advantages: the hardwood immediately adjacent to the sidewall effects a higher power transmission, improves the edge grip and supports the edge against external forces. The low weight of the softwood in the middle of the ski brings more agility and maneuverability and reduces overall ski weight. The combination of both wood types running through the entire ski length contributes to an optimal distribution of the ski stiffness increasing the steering precision.

Laminates: Powered by Titanium – A metal layer just under the topskin delivers dampness and power at speed.

3D.Glass – Three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and tail area or binding area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound in turns.

Sidewalls: Full Sidewall – Full length sidewalls provide optimal power transmission for the length of the ski.

Base: P-Tex 4504 – A sintered, ultra-high molecular polyethylene base with an extremely high density. Besides a great wear resistance and perfect wax absorption, P-Tex 4504 is extremely fast and exclusively used on Volkl's top of the line and race models. The material has been upgraded with special additives to make it thermal and electro-conductive and proves its qualities with premium glide and maximum speed in races.
